The Roman Optio 1st Century A.D. kit was sculpted by Dae Hyeng, Kim and looks to be an outstanding kit.

If you are a Roman History buff, or figure collector, you are really going to love this kit. The resin detailed is amazing, with little or no flash. My sword (Gladius – Roman Short Sword) was broken in transit, but will easily be fixed.

The Kit

Contains ten (10) resin parts (base, body with one leg, head with helmet, other leg, shield, one arm for the shield and one arm with the Gladius one sheath for the Gladius and one with a knife, the last piece is the plume for his helmet).

DG Artwork/Underground Miniatures has a great looking Roman fighter (the Optio is the second in command of a Century) that is going to paint up into a superb figure.

The clothing and equipment are highly detailed and covered in numerous books so painting should be easy to find good reference.

Overall this should build into an outstanding replica of a 1st Century Roman Optio. I highly recommended this kit for figure builders and painters that like that era in time.  I received this kit from High Calibre Miniatures (James and Allen Gates) during the recent 2016 IPMS Show in Vancouver BC, Canada.

The Kit currently sells for $45.00 US Dollars and is well worth the money.
