Master Box ~ Pinup Series ~ Marylyn – Betty – Alice

Untitled (800x695)

Review by Shawn W. Gehling

Marylyn – MB24001

Betty – MB24002

Alice – MB24003

Scale – 1/24

Many of us waited for the 1/35th scale group of these lovely ladies to arrive and now we have them in 1/24th scale. Each is being released individually.  In this series each of these Pinup girls is bigger and better than their smaller 1/35th scale counter-part.  Each kits gives you one female figure, US Pin-up style from the nineteen forties or World War II and all with different scene posing.

Marylyn – MB24001

Biker Girl Marylin box front (378x533)

This one is sitting/leaning against something tipping her hat back. If you have ever seen World War II era Pin-ups then I don’t need to explain anything. She is dressed (or undressed if you wish) in scanty clothing representing a beautiful woman supporting the US of A and the brave men fighting the war. The Harley Davidson motorcycle on the box front are not included. She is well molded and looks great.

Betty – MB24002

American Beauty Betty box front (377x532)

This one is standing with a flag staff in one hand and her other hand on her hip. If you have ever seen World War II era Pin-ups then I don’t need to explain anything. She is dressed (or undressed if you wish) in scanty clothing representing a beautiful woman supporting the US of A and the brave men fighting the war. She is well molded and looks great.

American Beauty Betty box rear (350x494)

Contents

1 sprue with 11 pieces that have no flash and one dry transfer sheet for the US flag. Although the excellent Dry Transfer US Flag is included, (it is the wrong one for that era) as it has 50 stars vice the 48 star flag used during World War II (Alaska and Hawaii were not states yet).

Alice – MB24003

US Army Alice box front (376x530)

This kit gives you one female figure, US Pin-up style from the nineteen forties or World War II. This one is standing with an M-1 Carbine, harness and US Paratrooper helmet. If you have ever seen World War II era Pin-ups then I don’t need to explain anything. She is dressed (or undressed if you wish) in scanty clothing representing a beautiful woman supporting the US of A and the brave men fighting the war. The jeep and Harley Davidson motorcycle on the box front are not included. She is well molded and looks great.

Conclusion

Master Box has scaled-up all of these beautifully molded female Pin-ups from their 1/35 scaled series.  All of these girls are just waiting to be built to raise the spirits of every red blooded American boy.  The subject of Pinups is covered in numerous books, so information on these should not be too hard to find.

Overall these figures look great and can be placed alone or with a 1/24th scale vehicle. All of these kits are highly recommended for anyone who enjoys figures. I would like to thank Alexander Surzhenko of Master Box Models for the review kit you can check out their entire line of kits at http://www.mbltd.info/.
